Summer Reading 2013 at the Dunbarton
kickball game may have been rained
out, but Dunbarton readers still enjoyed an evening of ice cream
awards, as the 2013 Summer Reading Program came to a close. Over
people participated in the summer programs, reading a total of
books and creating sand art, decorative pots, and stepping stones,
racing Lego vehicles and learning about sow bugs and corn snakes.
adventuresome readers completed the
“Red Ant” challenge, reading a total of 13 books in different
genres and formats. Luke Antonia won the prize of free ice cream
cones, generously donated by Arnie’s Place of Concord.
Carter and Oliver Weiss tied
for the most books read, at 118 each. Close behind was Adee
with 114 books. Laurel Arce was also a top reader, with 100 books.
Siblings Bridget and Timmy Wilson were honored for perfect
at story time.

Weiss, Vivian Madden, and Bridget Wilson; second graders Adee
Joon Guzman, and Hunter Duncan; third graders Meredith Ryan, Jake
Westenberg, and Rachel Pelletier; fourth graders Laurel Arce,
Cooper, and Michael Pelletier; fifth grader Elizabeth Hanson;
grader Tessa Thomas, eighth grader Hudson Arce; ninth graders
Luby, Hannah Thomas, and Anja Stadelmann; and adults Lisa Poirier,
Carol Fisk, Ann Dulude, Maggie Johnson, Becky Barlow, Beryl
Tamara Bowne, Bruce Banks, Dina Carr, and Deb Cooper.
