Getting Started
Before you can
download audio books, you will need to download and
install the OverDrive Media Console and perform a one-time-only
security upgrade to Windows Media Player. You may wish to review
the Quick
Start Guide
to using OverDrive Media Console.
When you're
ready to search for a book to download, go to nh.lib.overdrive.com.
You can browse by subject or collection, or search by title, author, or
keyword. Clicking on a title or book cover will show you
information about the title: author, reader, copies available, length,
description, and the Digital Rights Information for the title. A
sample excerpt can be heard as well. You can add up to 5 titles
to your shopping cart; they will be held there for 60 minutes.
You can also place a hold on any title that is currently
unavailable.
You may check
out up to 3 audio books at a time. When you are
ready to check out, click on the "Proceed to Checkout" link in your
cart. You will be asked to sign in: select Dunbarton Public
Library from the drop down list of libraries. You will need to
add a prefix to your library card number: 4419xxx, where xxx is your
three digit card number. Follow the onscreen directions to
checkout your chosen title(s) and to download to your computer.
NOTE: You will
need to be connected to the Internet to transfer your
title to a portable MP3 player, but you can listen to it on your
computer without a connection.
