Henri and Nancy Tuthill
- Cumbrian Kennels was Founded in 1967. Henri Owned and exhibited Pointers from the Kennels of Tomsueamy, Richland, Darian Cove and Shandown.
with his first Champion Shandown's Prima Donna being the dam of his first litter. Henri's interest in the beautiful type the English dogs possessed prompted the importations of many Pointers from the UK. It was the importations of Ch Cumbrian President and Ch Sunset of Cumbrian, imported in Whelp to Eng. Sh. Ch Cumbrian Stonethorpe Seashore, that christened the Cumbrian Prefix in America. Next to be imported was Cumbrian Black Cygnet and Am Ch Querdon Phoenix of Cumbrian, a Junior Warrant winner at Crufts.
- Nancy first became interested in the breed primarily for hunting purposes. After purchasing her first Pointer in 1981, she became interested in showing and soon contacted Cumbrian in search of a show prospect. Through the gates of Cumbrian Kennel 170 Champion, Hunting and Obedience Titled dogs have passed! Together Henri and Nancy have bred 99 champion pointers and 8 Champion Smooth Fox Terriers.
- Cumbrian Kennel has owned and exhibited Irish and English Setters, an English Cocker, a Whippet, an Afghan, Wire Fox Terriers, a Miniature Bull Terrier and a Doberman.
- Henri is an American Pointer Club lifetime Member and he and Nancy are both AKC approved judges and have been active in many All Breed and Pointer clubs. In addition Henri founded the Pointer Club of Southern California in 1968.
